About us
A nature escape built around women and community.
Karisimbi Cave Resort was founded by Aline Ishimwe with two powerful motivations: to empower women, and to offer affordable luxury for travellers visiting northern Rwanda.
Our story
Two purposes, one place.
Women can access jobs, receive training, build confidence and pursue leadership and bigger dreams in hospitality, agriculture and tourism.
The second purpose is affordable comfort for travellers. Guests enjoy comfort, nature and authentic experiences without losing the warmth and accessibility of local hospitality.
Vision & mission

To be a leading eco-friendly resort in East Africa, celebrated for inspiring meaningful travel and a deeper connection to Rwanda's nature, culture and people.
To provide an exceptional hospitality experience that combines comfort, adventure and cultural immersion, while promoting sustainability, community empowerment and authentic Rwandan traditions.

Sustainability
Cared for from the farm to the guest room.
Sustainability guides our operations. We use local materials, promote organic farming and support local suppliers. We cultivate organic vegetables and fruits, raise chickens, rabbits and cows and grow mushrooms.
We source 100% cage-free eggs to protect hens and support ethical poultry farming. Together with our farm-to-table approach, this helps reduce our carbon footprint, minimise food waste and contribute to climate change mitigation.
